Now, during the F8 developer conference, Facebook has announced a number of steps that it believes will help restore user confidence in the platform in terms of privacy and security of the users.[br][br]However, WhatsApp users also had something to look forward to as Facebook announced that its instant messaging app will soon get product catalogs for Businesses while users will also be able to make purchases right from the app.[br][br]WhatsApp has been testing the payments feature in India and while we will have a wait for a while to access the WhatsApp payments feature, WhatsApp for Businesses has already been launched and while it already allows businesses to have their own profiles on the platform with contact information, the platform will now allow these businesses to display their entire product catalogs as well.[br][br]These product catalogs will be visible on the WhatsApp profiles of businesses within the app and customers will be able to browse through them. This upcoming WhatsApp feature is expected to help millions of small businesses which do not have a website or a listing on high-value domains to get better reach and exposure. Especially in countries like India, the new product catalogs feature will help businesses to lay out their products directly on WhatsApp.[br][br]Coming back to WhatsApp payments, Mark Zuckerberg said during Facebook’s F8 developer conference that the payments option is currently being tested in India along with some other countries and the feature will be launched soon globally, however, the Facebook CEO didn’t put a timeframe on the official launch of WhatsApp payments.[br][br]That said, one the WhatsApp payments feature is fully functional and businesses start putting out their product catalogs on their WhatsApp account, the messaging app might finally become a profitable product with huge revenues for Facebook.[br][br]Source : timesnownews.com
