[br]New Delhi, May 12: If you are fond of sharing and viewing messages, photos and videos on WhatsApp, you should be worried. It may stop working on your phone in the not too distant future.[br][br]Facebook, which owns the social media platform, has updated its 'support for operating systems page'. The Mark Zuckerberg owned company has made an addition to the list of OSes it will soon stop giving out updates for.[br][br]This may become a major concern for millions of smartphone users across India. The social media platform has become extremely popular in the country in recent years.[br][br]People not only use the software for sharing messages, photos and videos. It is also used to send live locations and even make voice calls.[br][br]Here is a list of OSes which will soon not be able to support WhatsApp, as well as those which have already become obsolete.[br][br][br]
[br]1) Users with Windows Phone operating system will see WhatsApp stop working on their devices after December 31, 2019.[br][br]2) Phones using Android versions 2.3.7 will lose support from WhatsApp after February 1 next year.[br][br]3) iPhone users whose phones are running on iOS 7 will not be able to use the online platform after February 1, 2020.[br][br]4) Android version 2.3.3 and older, iPhones running on iOS6 and iPhone 3GS are already not able to support WhatsApp. Same goes for BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10.[br][br]5) Phones running on KaiOS 2.5.1+, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2 are supported by WhatsApp.[br][br]6) Those who are using WhatsApp on older platforms will not be able to transfer their chat history.[br][br] |
