A football manager in Negri Sembilan has been remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection with alleged match-fixing last November.
He is the second person to be nabbed in relation to the scandal.
As reported by The Star Online, The remand order for five days was issued by assistant registrar Mas Azmimin Ahmad Sunday following an application by Negri Sembilan MACC prosecuting officer Mohd Khairi Abdul Karim.
The 38-year-old team manager was arrested at 3.25pm here Saturday (Jan 6) on suspicion of bribing players from the opposing team to ensure his team's victory in the People's Football League match on Nov 25 last year.
The man, clad in MACC lock-up attire, arrived at the magistrate's court here at 9.40am in the agency's vehicle.
On Saturday, a football team head coach here was ordered to be remanded five days to allow the investigation into the case. - Bernama
