I am so keyed up and thrilled to see you in this beautiful year, 2018! In this New Year, you are going to achieve at least double of what you did achieve last year, on the condition that you would single-mindedly follow what I am going to be avidly sharing with you in the next 52 weeks. Those who followed all I shared with them last year are obviously better than they were two years ago. I receive mails and phone calls on the progress that those who—weekly read through my life-changing articles are making. Remember, success is always within your reach. You just need to know what it takes to attract it. Lest I forget, I do unreservedly wish you a fruitful New Year.
This week, I want to share with you some unavoidable keys that you’d need to have in possession in order to unlock success in this fresh year. On the 29th of December, 2017, a friend and I were discussing about a young entrepreneur who was substituted some months back. We were working with him a few years back, but as an effect of his nonchalant and laid-back attitude, we had to go look for another person—who does exactly what he does. The first thing you need to understand is that you have a replacement. And for everything you are good at doing, there are too many folks who can do it better. Knowing this will impact positively on how you are doing what you are doing for a living. I write to tell you that you should stop being laissez-faire about your business and clients. If you maintain the status-quo, you are going to lose a lot of high-paying clients in this year.
It takes more than being good at what you are doing to be successful in life. Over the years, I have met with a lot of good, but poor entrepreneurs. They are good, but they habitually leave their clients unsatisfied. This has made them to become very poor and broke. Also, there are too many good mechanics—that are very poor. They are good at what they are doing, but they consistently fail to do as they say. To unlock success in this year, you’d need to become hard at work and always do as you say.
Also, you’d need to set at least one relationship goal for yourself this year. You’d need to develop a relationship with either a man or woman—who is relevant to your life and business. Every year, it is my culture to always set this unique goal and realize it. Developing relevant relationships will make your life and business become very easy. Over the years, I have met with many struggling entrepreneurs—that are very uninformed and ignorant about this unusual key that unlocks great success.
In this New Year, you cannot afford to live your life as you lived it last year. Many folks lived their lives thoughtlessly and did expect success to come their way. The truth is; no one becomes successful without preparing for it. To become successful, you’d need to consciously plan for it. If you desire to embrace success this year, you’d need to invest a part of your income in knowledge. Throughout last year, maybe you did not invest a dime in relevant books. This year, that will need to stop, if you desire to be successful. Each month, you’d need to set some money aside to buy relevant books. And do not only buy them, read through them. And do not only read through them, make sure you apply the knowledge you glean from them to your life and business.
Furthermore, to become successful this year, you may need to switch off your television. Many years ago, when Brian Tracy was romancing poverty, he went to God to know why dearth was his closest companion. This is what God told him: “Switch off your television and go drop it inside your store.” Your television may be the reason why you are poor. There are folks—who watch “season films” for almost 15hours daily. You may need to switch yours off too and go drop it inside your store before you are able to walk out of poverty. Remember, those who watch television too much hardly appear on television.
About a year ago, I was telling one of my admired mentees one of the major things he would need to change about his life before his life could begin to change. It was important for him to change what he was wearing. Many people do know this key. One of the reasons people do not value you is because of your external appearance. You cannot dress as a pauper and be treated as a king. Let no one deceive you that looking good ain’t necessary. There are too many folks who have lost many opportunities simply because they did not dress the part. Are you a managing director of a company? Then stop appearing as a clerk. You are not allowed to dress below your level. As a matter of fact, you are supposed to be dressing for where you are going in life.
Lastly, you may need to look for a seasoned mentor—someone who would be holding you accountable. I am of the opinion that no one can become an outstanding success in life without having at least a mentor. There is no outstanding footballer and athlete without having a coach. Anthony Joshua has a coach. Mike Tyson had a coach. Muhammad Ali had a coach. Pele of Brazil had a coach. George Foreman had a coach. I do have a coach. Every successful man and woman has a coach. But you want to become successful without having a coach. How is that going to be possible? In this New Year, you may need to look for a mentor, a coach. This is unavoidable, if you desire to become successful in life and business.
